SPIRITUAL HEART

HEART IS NOT A PERSON, PLACE OR THING

The "Heart" is another name for the Divine Self, the intuition or Realization of the Radiant Transcendental Being, Self or God. The true Self. The Self beyond words. The union of Body & Spirit. The Witness of Attention. The origin of the term is the experiential association of Awakening to the Self with the sense of the opening of the heart-root in the right side of the chest and the sense of the mind or process of thought and attention falling into its root or origin of that "locus" associated with the trunk of the body. Not separate -- Eternal -- Awake as One. This is also called the "spiritual heart" and is not the psycho-physical heart of the body-mind, the physical organ located on the left side of the body. The "Heart" of the matter. The Essence of everything. The "Heart" is the Self reflected in the body; experienced as bliss -- with no cause.

Love of Self

That which you are, your true Self, you love it, and whatever you do, you do for your own happiness. To find it, to know it, to cherish it is your basic urge. Since time immemorial you loved yourself, but never wisely. Use you body and mind wisely in the service of the Self, that is all. Be true to your own Self, love your Self absolutely. Do not pretend that you love others as yourself. Unless you have realized them as one with yourself, you cannot love them. Don't pretend to be what you are not; don't refuse to be what you are. Your love of others is the result of Self-knowledge, not its cause. Without Self-realization, no virtue is genuine. When you know beyond all doubting that the same life flows through all that is, and you are that life, you will love all naturally and spontaneously. When you realize the depth and fullness of your love of yourself, you know that every living being and the entire universe are included in your affection. But when you look at any thing as separate from you, you cannot love it for you are afraid of it. Alienation causes fear and fear deepens alienation. It is a vicious circle. Only Self-realization can break it. Go for it resolutely. ~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

Self is Not a Time Bound Experience

There is no experiential access of the Self as an object. The Self is the Witness of the body-mind experiencing itself. The Self is the Witness of Attention to objects and experience as they arise in projected form in the body-mind complex. Only the Ego suffers. What you Are does not suffer. All is One -- not separate, not "other". There is only one Self. The Self never changes. The Self is not a time-bound experience. The Self is Reality. Reality is always already the case. Reality is non-dual. You can't have an "experience" of it. The Self is not an "experiencing" entity. It is not personal. There is no good, bad, or ugly -- no likes or dislikes. No "point of view" and no sense of "doer-ship". All "experience" arises in the body-mind mechanism only. You have a body, you have a mind -- It is not what you Are. You are the Witness; all-pervading -- limitless Awareness.
